15 vehicles seized in massive raid against illegal mining activities

Mathura, October 18– In one of the biggest raid operations to curb illegal mining activities, officials seized 15 vehicles found involved in illegal mining activity , a Senior official said.
The raid, which begins on Friday night was continued till Saturday morning. “In total, 15 vehicles were seized from different locations falling in the jurisdiction of Sadar tehsil, which includes JCB machines, Dumper trucks, and tractors,” SDM Sadar Abhinav J Jain said.

While 3 JCBs and 2 tractors were seized doing illegal earth excavation from village Bad and Village Aduki falling under the Highway Police station, 4 Dumper trucks, 2 JCBs, and 1 Tractor were caught doing illegal earth excavation from Village Rosu falling under the Farah Police station, SDM said. 4 illegal Dust and sand-laden Dumper trucks were checked in the Village Bad, falling under the Refinery Police station, he added.
The raids were conducted as per the directives of District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh to check on illegal earth excavation, illegal sand and dust mining in the Sadar tehsil, Abhinav J Jain said.
The vehicles were handed over to the concerned Police station in-charge. Officials of the transport department and mining department were directed to take further necessary action, Abhinav J Jain added.
While most drivers managed to flee, the team managed to catch three drivers, SDM said. District Mining Officer Akshay Kumar, Station In-charge of Highway, Farah, and Refinery Police Station, Tehsildar, and Nayab Tehsildar were also part of the raiding team.
