New Delhi, 19th August : In a Supplementary Chargesheet filed in the CPI (Maoist) arms and ammunition seizure case of Jharkhand, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday charged sheeted 16 accused, including a woman, taking the total number of accused chargesheeted to 25.
The case (RC-02/2022/NIA/RNC) relates to the arrest of cadres CPI (Maoist) cadres and the seizure of a huge cache of arms and ammunition from P.S Peshrar, Lohardaga, Jharkhand. The case, registered initially at the local Police Station on 21st February 2022, was re-registered by NIA on 14th June 2022.
A joint operation was conducted by the local police and the CRPF, during which the CPI (Maoist) cadres had fired indiscriminately on the security forces on way to Bahabar Jungle, at Harkatta Toli and Bangla Pat. Search of the area surrounding the firing had later led to the recovery of a large quantity of arms, ammunition, explosives and other items.
Investigations have further established that CPI (Maoist) top Commanders and armed cadres had entered into a criminal conspiracy at Budha Pahar during August-September, 2022, and had decided to take revenge against the arrest of senior CPI (Maoist) leader Prashant Bose. They had intended to carry out terrorist acts against the security forces and the Police.
The accused chargesheeted today under various sections of IPC, Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act, CLA Act, and UA(P) Act have been identified as Balram Oraon @ Bali, Saileshwar Oraon @ Mandeep @ Kasai, Dasrath Singh Kherwar, Shailender Nagesia @ Vinod Nagesia, Markush Nagesia @ Markush Ji, Mukesh Korwa, Biren Korwa, Sheela Kherwar, Sanjay Nagesia @ Mota, Balak Ganjhu @ Sukhdayal Ganjhu, Suraj Nath Kherwar @ Guddu, Nandkishor Bharti @ Sudarshan Bhuiyan, Aman Ganjhu @ Aman ji @ Bhokta @ Anil Ganjhu @ Pramukh Singh Bhokta @ Kaju, Jatru Kherwar @ Jatru Ji @ Tana Kherwar, Muneshwar Ganjhu @ Bitan Ganjhu @ Munshi Ji, and Govind Birijia.
On 18th May, 2021, the Jharkhand police had earlier chargesheeted nine accused under various sections of IPC, Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act, CLA Act, and UA(P) Act
