PAMPORE, September 12: The Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) Pampore, under the guidance and supervision of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Pulwama, successfully organised the third National Lok Adalat on Saturday, at the Munsiff Court Pampore.
The Lok Adalat aimed to provide speedy, economical and amicable resolution of disputes, thereby ensuring easy access to justice for the general public.
The proceedings were conducted by Bench No. 06, presided over by Ms. Uzma Amin, Munsiff and Chairperson, TLSC Pampore, along with Bench Member Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Khan. The Bench actively encouraged the parties to resolve their disputes through dialogue, mutual understanding and conciliation, officials told Morning Kashmir.
Out of 40 cases taken up, 27 were amicably settled on the spot, involving a settlement amount of Rs. 9.70 lakh. The settlements provided immediate relief to the litigants and also contributed towards reducing the pendency of cases before regular courts.
The successful conduct of the National Lok Adalat was further facilitated by the cooperation and assistance of Prosecuting Officer, Pampore, Mr. Noveed Sarwer Khan, whose proactive role proved instrumental in resolving several matters amicably.
The National Lok Adalat held at the Munsiff Court Pampore once again highlighted the importance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms in delivering timely, cost-effective and accessible justice.
Such initiatives reflect the continued commitment of the Legal Services Authorities towards promoting harmony, reducing litigation and strengthening public confidence in the justice delivery system.
