A Grand Experiment of Shiva-Sankalpa in Kaliyuga

Harshad bhai Vyas

The Koti Atirudra Mahayagya: A Special Conversation between Harshad Bhai Vyas and Nilesh Shukla regarding the simultaneous ceremony across 12 Jyotirlingas.

In the era of Kaliyuga, humanity is generally considered distant from yagyas (sacrificial fires) and penance. However, when a seeker’s resolve (sankalpa), faith, and guru’s grace awaken together, even the impossible begins to manifest.
One such massive resolve is taking shape: from February 19, 2026, to February 27, 2026, the “Koti Atirudra Mahayagya Mala” will be organized simultaneously across all 12 Jyotirlingas in India. The visionary behind this unprecedented event is Harshad Bhai Vyas from Jamnagar, who views himself more as a ‘medium of Shiva’ than an organizer.

The Interview
Question 1: Welcome. Please tell us about yourself and the story behind the birth of this grand Yagya’s resolve.
Harshad Bhai: I do not limit myself to any title or identity; I am a simple devotee of Shiva. While my life included business, family, and society, there was an inner void. Shiva worship became my way of life rather than just a ritual. Through the guidance of my Gurus and various saints, I felt that if the “Brahmin brilliance” (intellectual/spiritual light) fades, the consciousness of society and the nation will weaken. At that moment, the resolve was born—to do something that transcends personal salvation and benefits the world. This was the seed of the Koti Atirudra Mahayagya.
Question 2: In simple terms, what is the “Koti Atirudra Mahayagya”?
Harshad Bhai: Rudra is consciousness itself. Rudrabhishek is not just offering water; it is an energy bridge between man and the universe. When millions of Rudra mantras are chanted with a specific method and resolve, it is called ‘Koti Atirudra’. It means invoking the Shiva-element millions of times. This yagya takes a person out of the limited “I” and toward the realization of ‘Shivoham’ (I am Shiva). Its influence extends beyond the practitioner to the environment, nature, and society.
Question 3: You claim this is the first time in Kaliyuga that this yagya is happening simultaneously at all 12 Jyotirlingas. What is the basis for this?
Harshad Bhai: This claim is based on scriptures, traditions, and the study of scholars. While there are records of Koti Atirudra Yagyas in Kashi and Somnath, there is no known instance of linking all 12 Jyotirlingas in a single Yagya-chain during the same period. After consulting senior saints, scholars of the Shankaracharya tradition, and experienced Brahmins, it was concluded that this is a first-of-its-kind effort in Kaliyuga, likely inspired by Shiva Himself.
Question 4: Coordinating a simultaneous yagya at 12 locations must be difficult. How was this achieved?
Harshad Bhai: This is less a human effort and more the grace of Shiva. Temple trusts, priests, and local seekers across different states have collaborated, viewing this as Shiva’s work. Technical coordination, the establishment of Yagya pits (kunds), and the appointment of Acharyas have been done with extreme discipline. Notably, 108 Yagya kunds have been linked in a ‘garland’ formation so that every location remains spiritually connected.
Question 5: How were the dates of February 19 to 27, 2026, chosen?
Harshad Bhai: This was decided based on a deep study of the Panchang (almanac), constellations (Nakshatras), and Shiva Yoga, not a standard calendar. This period is considered highly active for the Shiva-element. During these days, a seeker’s consciousness awakens faster, increasing the possibility of fulfilling their resolve. It is not just a date; it is a “special portal of energy”.
Question 6: What is the main objective of this Mahayagya?
Harshad Bhai: The objectives are multi-dimensional: world peace, environmental balance, the elevation of human consciousness, and the restoration of spiritual brilliance in Brahmins. We believe a yagya is not just an offering into the fire, but an offering of the ego. When society understands this, the nation will naturally become empowered.
Question 7: Can ordinary devotees participate?
Harshad Bhai: Absolutely. This yagya belongs to every Shiva devotee. People can join from home through resolve (sankalpa), chanting, and meditation. Participation is also being arranged via online platforms so no one is deprived of Shiva’s grace.
Question 8: What is your message for the youth?
Harshad Bhai: Shiva is not ancient; He is eternal energy. Even modern science discusses energy and consciousness, and Shiva is the source of that. Spirituality does not clash with modern life; it provides balance. External success only lasts when inner strength is awakened.
Question 9: What has been the most profound moment in this journey for you?
Harshad Bhai: The moment we invoked the 108 Gotra Rishis and Saptarishis into 115 water-filled urns (Kalashs) was beyond words. It felt as if the boundaries of time, space, and the physical body vanished. That is when I realized this is not my work, but Shiva’s.
Question 10: Any final message for Shiva devotees?
Harshad Bhai: Shiva belongs to everyone; He is not limited to any sect or class. I urge everyone to connect with this Mahayagya through mind, mantra, or service. Unity, peace, and compassion are the true forms of Shiva.

Conclusion
The simultaneous Koti Atirudra Mahayagya across 12 Jyotirlingas is more than an event; it is a spiritual awakening of Shiva-consciousness in Kaliyuga. Harshad Bhai’s resolve demonstrates that history is made when faith, scripture, and courage unite.
