Srinagar, July 28: Jammu and Kashmir is among the only three north-eastern states and union territories that is receiving 90 percent of fund share from the central government for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).
Stating the funding pattern under AB PM-JAY, the document reads, “For North-Eastern States and 3 Himalayan States/UTs (viz. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand), the ratio is 90:10, with the Centre’s share being 90 percent and the State’s share is 10 percent.”
About the expanding network of hospitals empanelled under PM-JAY, the documents read that, “Public health and hospitals being a State subject, State Health Agencies (SHAs) are mandated with the responsibility of empanelled hospitals under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY. 30,072 hospitals are empanelled (as on 31st December, 2024) across the country for providing free healthcare benefits under AB PM-JAY.”
“NHA has actively engaged with various central ministries such as the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Railways, and Ministry of Home Affairs to identify and empanel hospitals run by these ministries,” it reads.
Stating the progress during the period January-01-2024 to December-31-2024, the documents of the union government reads, “3,284 hospitals were empanelled, 48 percent of the total hospitals empanelled are private and approximately 150 hospitals with over 100 beds were empanelled.”
NHA has partnered with Quality Council of India (QCI) to develop a portal for online quality certification of empanelled hospitals. These quality certifications include Bronze, Silver, and Gold certifications.
“In this regard, an online portal has also been developed to make the process of application seamless and easy for the EHCPs. An app has also been developed by QCI to ease out the process and ensure closure of non-compliance found during the assessment process of certification for the EHCPs,” it reads.
