Srinagar, Oct 3: Ahead of the results of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the government has repatriated the employees of the Legislative Assembly from different departments.
The order in this regard was issued by the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government, Sanjeev Verma under number 1700-JK(GAD) of 2024, dated 03-10-2024.
The employees have been asked to immediately report in the office of Secretary, J&K Legislative Assembly—both Jammu and Srinagar.
“It is hereby ordered that all employees belonging to the J&K Legislative Assembly, deployed in various Departments/Offices by the General Administration Department from time to time, shall immediately report in the office of Secretary, J&K Legislative Assembly, Jammu/Srinagar,” the order reads.
Secretary, J&K Legislative Assembly, shall furnish details of noncompliance in this regard, if any, to the General Administration Department within a period of one week from the date of issuance of this order, it reads, adding that all the officials shall be deemed to have been relieved.
Pertinently, the decision has been taken just five days ahead of the election results and two days after the three-phased elections culminated in Jammu and Kashmir.
The elections started on September 18, 2024 and culminated on October 01, 2024. The counting of votes will be held on October 08, 2024.
Moreover, the Assembly complexes are being spruced up speedily in the twin capital cities of UT.
Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo earlier conducted a comprehensive review focusing on several critical issues concerning the upgradation and renovation of Assembly complexes at Jammu and Srinagar, as well as the MLA hostels and availability of staff for smooth functioning of the Assembly once the elections are completed here.
During the meeting, Chief Secretary was briefed on the progress of works going on in these complexes. He emphasized the need to expedite the completion of these projects while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
