Jammu, July 12: NCC Himachal Trek-II (G) was organised by NCC Dte PHHP & C wef 17 Jun 2023 to 24 Jun 2023 at Paprola Baijnath in HP. Three ANOs alongwith 102 Senior & Junior Wing NCC Girls Cadets of NCC Directorate JK&L attended the expedition. A total of 510 Girls NCC Cadets from five Directorates participated in the Trek namely Dte JK&L, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. During the expedition, the cadets carried out trek to Mahakal Mandi, Tashi Jong Monastery, Tea Garden and Indru Nag Temple at the height of approximately 6000 feet above the sea level. In addition various competitions were also conducted amongst the Directorates.
In the Inter Directorate Co-curricular Activities, the JK&L Dte stood overall first. Praanya Puri & Gurasees Kour Raina were adjudged best in dance. Praanya Purialso stood overall first in essay writing competition. Sabgun Kour was declared as the Best Anchor of the Event. The cadets also brought laurels to the Dte as the team bagged “Best in Cultural Pgme Trophy”.
On returning from Paprola Baijnath the cadets were felicitated by the Maj Gen RK Sachdeva, Additional Director General. The ADG stated that NCC Cadets have made the UT of JK&L proud and shall ever remain a motivating figure to the youth of JK&L in the days to come.
