Cyberattacks Raise Concerns in India! 64% of Companies Make Fresh Investments in Data Security

99% Trust Their Security, But Major Gaps Remain in Preparedness! Synology Survey Exposes Corporate Vulnerabilities

Indian Organisations Wake Up After Cyberattacks, Outpace Australia and MEA in Data Security Purchases

Mumbai (Anil Bedag): In the digital age, data has become one of the most valuable assets for any business. However, the growing threat of cyberattacks is putting corporate security strategies to the real test. Synology’s 2026 Enterprise Survey has revealed an interesting picture of India’s corporate landscape. According to the survey, 64% of Indian organisations have purchased new data protection solutions following a cybersecurity incident. This figure is significantly higher than the corresponding numbers for Australia (49%) and the Middle East and Africa (48%).

Conducted by Foundry, the study covered 308 IT decision-makers. Interestingly, 99% of Indian respondents expressed confidence in their organisations’ ability to handle cyber crises. However, irregular backups, incomplete recovery testing and dependence on fragmented security tools raise serious questions about the actual level of preparedness behind this confidence.
