Pampore, October 15: Dr. J. Seetharamulu, Director of the Andhra Pradesh State Sericulture Research and Development Institute (APSSRDI), Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, along with Dr. P. J. Raju, former Director of APSSRDI, visited the Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute (CSB-CSRTI), Pampore, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday.
During the visit, the dignitaries explored the institute’s mulberry germplasm plots and gained insights into the genetic resources being maintained for research and development. They also interacted with newly recruited scientists and exchanged views on ongoing research activities, scientific advancements and future prospects in the field of sericulture.
An overview of CSB-CSRTI Pampore was presented, highlighting its major research programmes, significant achievements and contributions to the development of the sericulture sector, officials told Morning Kashmir.
Dr. N. Sakthivel, Director of CSB-CSRTI Pampore, warmly welcomed and felicitated the visiting dignitaries. He emphasised the importance of scientific interaction and knowledge-sharing among researchers to strengthen collaboration and address emerging challenges in sericulture.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for scientific exchange and knowledge-sharing, while also opening avenues for strengthening institutional collaboration between the two institutes in sericulture research and development.
