ARTO Baramulla Warns Parents as Drive Targets Underage Two-Wheeler Riders

Baramulla, Mar 25: The Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Baramulla carried out a special enforcement drive against traffic violators across several locations, including Narbal, Palhalan, Choora, National Highway Sangrama, and Baramulla town, with a particular focus on two-wheelers and underage riders.

ARTO Baramulla, Mudassir wani, appealed to parents not to allow minors to operate vehicles. He stressed that children must not ride two-wheelers without helmets, valid documents, and proper supervision, urging strict adherence to traffic norms for public safety.
During the drive, a total of 47 challans were issued, amounting to ₹1,21,500, while the process for suspension of 25 driving licences (DLs) has been initiated. Authorities also seized 7 vehicles, including 3 two-wheelers, 1 LMV, and 3 maxi cabs.
Officials also conducted awareness among commuters regarding safe driving practices. The ARTO said the aim is not to penalize but to save lives, urging parents to monitor their children and prevent underage driving.
