Baramulla, 12 February 2026: In a continued drive against illegal sand extraction activities, a joint team of Police Post Old Town along with officials from the Geology and Mining Department, Baramulla conducted a verification and enforcement action in the area.
During the operation, the team seized three illegal sand dumping sites, where approximately 374 Metric Tonnes (MTS) of illegally extracted sand had been dumped.
Accordingly, necessary legal action has been initiated under the relevant provisions of the MMRD Act.
Baramulla Police remains committed to taking strict action against illegal extraction and transportation of minerals to safeguard natural resources.
