BJP’s Manzoor Bhat visits family of slain doctor in Budgam, pledges support

Srinagar, Oct 23 : BJP leader Manzoor Bhat on Wednesday visited the home of slain Dr. Shahnawaz in Naidgam, Budgam, to express his condolences following the tragic loss in a terrorist attack in Gagangir, Ganderbal. He said that this terrorist attack, which took the life of the highly respected medical professional along with 6 others, has left his family in deep grief.
Bhat said that during the visit, the family appealed to the authorities to reinstate Dr. Shahnawaz as per government policy, a critical measure for the well-being of his dependents, which include his immediate family and two brothers who were reliant on his support.
He expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of an innocent life and pledged his full support to the family in their time of need.

Bhat assured his family that their concerns and demands would be conveyed to the appropriate authorities and addressed in a timely manner.
The young leader emphasized the importance of the government’s role in ensuring justice for the family and reaffirming its commitment to supporting the dependents of those who have been victims of terrorism.
“This senseless act of violence against Dr. Shahnawaz, a man devoted to the well-being of the people, is not only a personal loss for his family but also a loss for the entire community,” he said.
Bhat said that they cannot allow such acts that harm innocent lives to go unchallenged. The sacrifice of people like Dr. Shahnawaz must not be forgotten, and their families must be cared for as part of the government’s duty to its citizens, he said.
He further stressed the need to intensify efforts in combating terrorism, drawing attention to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 12 years
“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, we have made significant progress in securing the country with a strong stance on terrorism. It is crucial to continue this legacy with a firm, zero-tolerance policy against terrorism,” he said.
Bhat called on both the Lieutenant Governor’s administration and the newly formed Omar Abdullah government to provide family government job under SRO as they have no source of income.
He also said that administration should take immediate action in creating a comprehensive and robust security strategy that ensures the safety of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The people of J&K deserve to live without the constant fear of terrorism. It is the responsibility of the government to protect its citizens and provide them with an environment where they can thrive in peace,” he added.
The BJP leader reiterated his commitment to working with the government and relevant authorities to see that justice is served and that the family of Dr. Shahnawaz receives the support they need.
“The nation stands united in its fight against terrorism and in supporting those who have been affected by its cruel acts,” he said.
