CM Yogi launches sharp attack on Congress, Samajwadi Party and INDI alliance while addressing media before one-day special Assembly session
Appeals to members to actively participate in condemnation resolution against opposition’s anti-women stance on ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’
Condition of women during SP rule widely known, opposition will be exposed in special session: Chief Minister
Lucknow, April 30: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the INDI alliance while addressing the media ahead of the one-day special session of the Assembly.
Calling these parties anti-women, he said, “The special session has been convened to pass a condemnation resolution against their conduct in opposing the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ amendment.
“Targeting Congress and the Samajwadi Party, the Chief Minister said, these parties are inherently anti-women. He remarked that disrespect towards women is ingrained in their very nature. Whenever the Samajwadi Party came to power in the state, atrocities against women and brutal incidents crossed all limits of barbarity.
He said, everyone knows how slogans like “dekh safai, bitiya ghabraai” became common during the SP government. Whether it was the State Guest House incident or other crimes against women, their image is widely known.
Chief Minister took a jibe at the opposition, stating that they had a good opportunity to wipe away the stain on their image. They could have supported the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ amendment bill and changed their anti-women perception, but they missed that opportunity as well.
He added, “These parties are now continuously engaged in efforts to prevent the amendment and the Act from being implemented. The opposition made attempts that raised questions about governance in both the state and the country.”CM Yogi said, the entire day on Thursday will be dedicated to discussion on this issue.
Gratitude will be expressed towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring dignity, respect, self-reliance and empowerment for women under his leadership. He stated that BJP and NDA are continuously working to increase women’s participation in policy-making. Referring to history from the Shah Bano case onwards, he said that the opposition has always acted as an obstacle in the path of women’s reservation.
During Thursday’s discussion, the anti-women character of SP, Congress, DMK, TMC and their allies will be fully exposed.Chief Minister appealed to all members of the legislative party to actively participate in the discussion.
Addressing SP and Congress members, he said that if they have moral courage, they should take part in the debate and clearly explain why they opposed the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ amendment bill and what their intention was behind this opposition.
He added, if they believe their leaders were wrong, it is their responsibility to apologize or support the condemnation resolution and become part of condemning such anti-women conduct. He emphasized that those leaders who deprived half the population of political empowerment and the benefits of reservation must be strongly condemned.
