PAMPORE, OCTOBER 10: The Inter (Ops) Range Track and Field Competition-2025 of the Kashmir Operations Sector, CRPF was organized under the arrangements of 185 Battalion CRPF, Lethpora area of Pampore Tehsil in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.
Teams from all three operational ranges under the Kashmir Ops Sector — South Kashmir Ops Range Awantipora, North Kashmir Ops Range Baramulla, and Ops Range Anantnag — participated in the athletic meet.
The event was inaugurated by Narvir Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, CRPF, South Kashmir Ops Range (SKOR), who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, officials told Morning Kashmir.
In this competition, the winning athletes of the Inter (Ops) Battalion Track and Field Competition-2025 from all three operational ranges of the Kashmir Ops Sector are competing. The championship includes a series of athletic events such as the 100 meters sprint, 4×100 meters relay, 1500 meters race, cross-country run, long jump, high jump, and shot put.
The primary aim of organizing this sports event is to promote physical fitness, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship among the force personnel.
In his inaugural address, DIG Narvir Singh commended the efforts of the organizing committee and appreciated the enthusiasm and commitment of the participants. He emphasized the importance of building physical endurance, team spirit, and mental resilience, describing them as essential qualities for members of the force.
He further stated that the Inter-Operational Track and Field Meet serves as a platform for CRPF personnel to demonstrate their athletic excellence, fitness standards, and discipline, while also strengthening camaraderie, unity, and cooperation among the ranks.
On this occasion, several senior officers including B.R. Meena, Commandant-110 Battalion, Sunil Mishra, Second-in-Command, 185 Battalion, Sandeep Dwivedi, Second-in-Command, 130 Battalion, Vinod Tandon, Second-in-Command, 185 Battalion, Shiv Ram Meena, Deputy Commandant, 185 Battalion, Suman Kumar Mishra, Assistant Commandant and Dr. Md Salim Bilal, Medical Officer, 185 Battalion; along with other Gazetted Officers, subordinate officers, and jawans, extended full cooperation in organizing the event successfully.
The presence of Narvir Singh, DIG, CRPF, SKOR, greatly boosted the morale of the players, inspiring them to perform with greater zeal and excellence in the upcoming competitions.
