CRPF Rescues Pregnant Woman from Remote Aru Village, Ensures Safe Delivery of Baby Boy

Pahalgam, July 20: In a remarkable display of humanitarian service, personnel of the 116 Battalion CRPF rescued a pregnant woman from the remote Nandpal village in the Aru Valley after she went into labour amid adverse weather conditions and difficult terrain.

According to official sources, a medical emergency was reported from Nandpal village when the woman developed labour pains. Continuous rainfall, overflowing streams and the rugged landscape made it impossible for her family to transport her safely to a hospital.With no immediate means of evacuation available, the family approached CRPF troops deployed in the area and sought urgent assistance.

Recognising the gravity of the situation, the CRPF personnel responded immediately and launched a rescue operation. Braving the challenging weather and treacherous terrain, the troops carefully carried the expectant mother across slippery tracks and fast-flowing streams to reach a motorable point. Their swift and coordinated efforts ensured that she was safely brought out of the inaccessible area despite the difficult conditions.

Once the woman was evacuated to the road, the 116 Battalion CRPF arranged an official vehicle along with the necessary security escort to transport her safely to the Sub-District Hospital, Pahalgam. The timely evacuation enabled the medical team to provide immediate treatment.

Thanks to the prompt response and swift evacuation by the CRPF, the woman reached the hospital in time, where she successfully delivered a healthy baby boy under the supervision of doctors. Hospital authorities confirmed that both the mother and the newborn are safe and in stable condition.

The rescue operation was widely appreciated by the local residents, who lauded the prompt response and humanitarian role played by the CRPF during the emergency. Locals expressed gratitude to the force for extending immediate assistance and observed that the CRPF has always come forward to support the civilian population, particularly during medical emergencies, natural calamities and other critical situations in remote and inaccessible areas”.
