KUPWARA MARCH 12 : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara Ayushi Sudan, who is chairperson District Level Single Window Committee (DLSWC) Wednesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to discuss various issues pertaining to mining.
On the occasion DC impressed upon the officers to remain vigilant and adopt a proactive approach in identifying any illegal activities related to mineral extraction.

She urged the officers to take immediate action against violators and ensure that appropriate legal and punitive measures are implemented.
Officers were directed to conduct regular inspections, set up surveillance mechanisms, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to prevent illegal mining operations.
The meeting held threadbare discussion regarding various mining related issues including issuance of NOCs for newly identified Minor Mineral Blocks, royalty clearance on government projects before billing etc.
It was given out in the meeting that NOCs will be issued by the concerned departments after due consideration to their concerns in order to e-auction the newly minor mineral blocks.
The DMO Kupwara briefed the chair about the status of minor mineral blocks and informed that NOCs were issued for different mining blocks in the district after joint inspection by all stakeholding departments.
The chair also reviewed the status of NOCs under Single Window Clearance of Minor Mineral Blocks.
