KISHTWAR, NOV 24: In a proactive initiative, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, today undertook a comprehensive assessment of the sanitation and drainage system along the National Highway within the Kishtwar Township.
Accompanied by Tehsildar Kishtwar, Muneeb Umar, and GM NHIDCL G S Sangha, along with other officials from the Municipal Council Kishtwar, the inspection aimed to address concerns pertaining to public convenience and civic upkeep.
During the inspection, on the spot directives were issued to NHIDCL authorities to ensure the swift establishment of an efficient drainage system alongside the national highways within the town limits. Dr. Yadav emphasized the paramount importance of preventing inconvenience to the public and urged for the prompt repair and clearance of clogged drains at various locations also.
Simultaneously, the Municipal Council Authorities of Kishtwar received specific instructions to regulate the proper disposal of solid and plastic waste generated by shopkeepers operating along the National Highway in the town.
In a sideline interaction, DC Kishtwar convened a meeting with prominent hoteliers of Kishtwar town. He underscored the necessity for these establishments to guarantee proper waste disposal from their premises/establishments. Dedicated vehicles from MC Kishtwar were allocated for this purpose, and Dr. Yadav ensured the strict implementation of guidelines and directives, urging compliance in both letter and spirit for proper collection and dumping of solid and plastic waste.
This proactive approach towards enhancing sanitation infrastructure and waste management underscores the commitment of the District Administration Kishtwar to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for the residents and visitors alike.
