Srinagar, August 25: BJP J&K Spokesperson Manzoor Bhat today said that the fresh threats issued against Kashmiri Pandits are a desperate attempt to disturb the peace and development that the world is witnessing in Jammu & Kashmir. He said the timing assumes greater significance following the recent visit of US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor to Kashmir, where he witnessed the changing ground reality and described Jammu & Kashmir as an important part of India.
Bhat said the Ambassador’s visit and his observations have further exposed the false narrative that Pakistan has been projecting about Kashmir before the international community.
Pakistan is frustrated because the world is now seeing Kashmir with its own eyes. The visit of the US Ambassador, his assessment of the situation on the ground and his recognition of J&K as an important part of India are a clear reflection of the changing reality. Kashmir is moving towards peace, development and stability, and Pakistan’s propaganda is losing credibility Bhat said.
He said the fresh threats against Kashmiri Pandit employees appear to be an attempt to create fear and disturb the peaceful atmosphere that has emerged in the Valley.
These threats are a serious security concern and must be dealt with firmly. The administration and security agencies must identify those behind these threats and ensure the complete safety of Kashmiri Pandit employees and their families he said.
Bhat said Pakistan and its ecosystem cannot accept the fact that Kashmir is progressing and that its decades-old narrative is being challenged by the reality on the ground.
Whenever Pakistan finds that its propaganda is failing, desperate attempts are made to manufacture fear and disturb communal harmony. But this time, Kashmir will not be pushed backwards. The people have moved beyond the politics of fear and violence.
He said India will not allow anyone to disturb the hard-earned peace of Jammu & Kashmir.
The country is neither afraid of these threats nor will it tolerate attempts to destabilise Kashmir. Those behind such attempts will be given a firm and decisive response.
Bhat also called upon the administration to strengthen security arrangements for Kashmiri Pandit employees and take immediate action against those responsible for issuing such threats.
The Kashmir that the world is seeing today is a Kashmir of peace, development and hope. Pakistan may be frustrated by this transformation, but no manufactured threat can stop Kashmir’s journey forward.
