DG commends CRPF’s outstanding contribution in Kmr

SRINAGAR, NOV 06: The Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the largest paramilitary force in India, commended the exemplary role played by the CRPF personnel in maintaining peace and security in Kashmir.
This recognition comes in the wake of the DG CRPF Sujoy Lal Thaosen’s visit to Srinagar where he took a comprehensive security assessment of the valley.

As per the officials during his visit to Srinagar, Director General, Sujoy Lal Thaosen, who leads the CRPF, lauded the unwavering commitment and relentless efforts of CRPF personnel who have been stationed in Kashmir to combat terrorism, insurgency, and maintain law and order.
He emphasized that the CRPF has been instrumental in safeguarding the lives of civilians and upholding the integrity of the nation. The Director General acknowledged the numerous challenges faced by CRPF personnel on a daily basis and expressed his deep appreciation for their professionalism and dedication.
The DG stressed the critical role the CRPF plays in ensuring a secure environment for the residents of Kashmir and the region’s overall development.
“The CRPF has been at the forefront of maintaining peace and security in the Kashmir region. Our personnel have faced numerous challenges, but their commitment to their duty is commendable. Their unwavering dedication to safeguarding the lives of the people and maintaining law and order in this region is highly praiseworthy,” he said.
The CRPF, with its extensive presence in the valley, has been actively involved in counter-terrorism operations, maintaining public order during various challenging situations, and conducting humanitarian and civic action programs.
It is worth mentioning here that the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is currently on a three-day visit to the Kashmir region. During this visit, the DG CRPF is expected to assess the security situation, engage with CRPF personnel, and review strategies aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region.
This visit underscores the critical role played by the CRPF in maintaining law and order, countering insurgency, and providing security services in the region. It also provides an opportunity for the DG CRPF to interact with local authorities and discuss collaborative efforts to further strengthen security and peace initiatives in Kashmir.
The officials said that DG Thaosen toured various areas of Srinagar and received detailed briefings from high-ranking officers.
“The Director General was provided with an in-depth presentation regarding the security situation in Srinagar,” they said, adding, “He was briefed on the challenges faced by the CRPF personnel and the notable achievements in countering insurgency and maintaining public order. It was emphasized that there is a strong synergy between the CRPF and other security forces operating in the Kashmir region”.
In addition to the security aspect, Thaosen was also apprised of the various programs initiated by the paramilitary force to engage Kashmiri youth in constructive activities, thereby steering them away from the disruptive influences of anti-national elements.
Meanwhile, as per the reports, the Director General also made a stop at a CRPF camp located in Eidgah, where he interacted with the troops and discussed various operational and administrative matters.
Previously, he presided over a joint review meeting with the Director General of Police, R. R. Swain, at PCR Srinagar, underscoring the collective efforts and strategies in place to maintain the security and stability of the region.
