Udhampur, August 23, 2024: Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur Police arrested a drug peddler and seized a substantial quantity of contraband heroin. The operation was conducted by the Police Post Tikri team.
Team of Police Post Tikri led by Incharge Police Post Tikri while performing Patrolling/checking duty at Bansamorh (Tikri-Katra road) intercepted one suspicious person, who on seeing police party tried to escape from the spot but was apprehended by the police party. On frisking of said apprehended person namely Satish Kumar son of Puran Chand resident of Tagoot, Kishtwar. Police team recovered 7.69 grams of Heroin like contraband substance from the above said accused person and was arrested on spot.
Following the arrest, a case FIR number 184/2024 under Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered at Rehambal Police Station. Further investigations into the matter are currently underway.
