Dy CM holds introductory meeting with District Officers in Rajouri

NOWSHERA (RAJOURI), OCTOBER 19: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, today convened an introductory meeting with the district officers of Rajouri at Nowshera to ensure prompt public service delivery while extending good governance at people’s doorstep.

The meeting aimed to familiarize the Deputy CM with the operational dynamics of various departments within the district and to set a clear agenda for future initiatives.

During the meeting, Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thapa, provided a comprehensive briefing on the functioning of different departments in Rajouri. He highlighted various ongoing projects, challenges faced by the departments, and opportunities for improvement in service delivery.

In his address, Surinder Choudhary emphasized the importance of prioritizing the needs of general public. He directed all district offices to process files and requests from citizens on priority basis, ensuring that public grievances are addressed promptly and efficiently. “Our commitment is towards ensuring complete welfare of the people. Every file that impacts the lives of our citizens must be handled with urgency,” he stated.

The Dy CM also reiterated the government’s stance on maintaining integrity and accountability within public service. He announced zero-tolerance policy against corruption and drug-related activities, calling for a collaborative effort from all departments to combat these issues. “We must work together to create a transparent and accountable administrative framework that serves the people without compromise,” he asserted.

Surinder Choudhary directed the officials to conduct gram sabhas (village assemblies) before finalizing any developmental plans. This approach is aimed at ensuring that community voices are heard, and local needs are taken into account in the planning process. “Engagement with the community is vital. We need to ensure that development is aligned with the aspirations of our citizens,” he added.

In addition, the Dy CM assessed the ongoing infrastructure projects and directed the Border Roads Organization (BRO) officials to expedite work on the Beripattan road. Recognizing the significance of robust infrastructure for economic development and connectivity, he stressed the need for timely completion of such projects.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from the Dy CM and district officers to work collaboratively towards enhancing governance, ensuring public welfare, and fostering an environment of transparency and accountability.

ADC Nowshera, ADC Sunderbani, CPO, ACD, Executive Engineers and all district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
