Expenditure Observer Ensures Strict Monitoring of Police Checkpoints and Campaign Spending in Shopian

Shopian | Sep 12 : Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Shopian on September 18, Expenditure Observer Nelapatla Ashok Babu conducted an inspection of police checkpoints and Video Surveillance Teams (VSTs) in the villages of Dachipora and Heerpora. The visit was aimed at ensuring strict adherence to guidelines set by the Election Commission to curb illegal activities and accurately track election expenditures.
During the visit, the Expenditure Observer engaged with police officials and VST members, instructing them to maintain vigilant monitoring at all district entry points. He emphasized the importance of preventing illegal expenditures and any activities that could compromise the integrity of the electoral process.
Additionally, the Observer directed the VST teams to keep a close watch on the campaign activities of all contesting candidates and ensure that expenses are recorded accurately in accordance with the real on-ground activities.
The visit was part of the district’s ongoing election preparations, with a focus on ensuring that both security and expenditure monitoring mechanisms are in place to uphold the transparency and fairness of the election process.
