Rotterdam, July 30, 2026: Rotterdam Dockers, one of the six franchises in the inaugural European T20 Premier League (ETPL), the International Cricket Council (ICC)-sanctioned T20 franchise tournament, is pleased to announce that Fireflies.ai and Krish Ramineni join the franchise as a founding investor. Joining him are cricketing greats Jonty Rhodes, Faf du Plessis, Heinrich Klaasen, and Bollywood actor and sports entrepreneur John Abraham as co-owners, alongside Madhukar Shree as the Managing Director for the team.
Fireflies.ai is one of the world’s leading AI productivity platforms, helping professionals automate meeting notes, transcriptions, summaries and action items. Trusted by over 20 million users across 75 per cent of the Fortune 500, the platform has become a global leader in AI-powered workplace collaboration.
Krish Ramineni, Founder and CEO of Fireflies.ai, has led the company’s rapid rise into one of the most recognized names in artificial intelligence. An early investor in companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity and SpaceX, Ramineni is also an avid follower of cricket and a sports fan, having played tennis at school and college level.
The investment marks another significant milestone for Rotterdam Dockers as the franchise continues to strengthen its long-term vision, combining global business leadership with sporting excellence ahead of the inaugural ETPL season.
Welcoming Ramineni to the franchise, Rotterdam Dockers Co-owner Heinrich Klaasen said: “We’re delighted to welcome Krish to the Rotterdam Dockers family. His passion for cricket, coupled with his remarkable journey in building one of the world’s leading AI companies, makes him a fantastic addition to our team. Having people like Krish believe in the vision of this franchise gives us even more confidence as we build something special on and off the field.”
Rotterdam Dockers Managing Director Madhukar Shree added: “Krish’s investment is about much more than capital. He brings with him deep expertise in scaling global technology businesses, building high-performance organisations and driving innovation. As we look to establish Rotterdam Dockers as a world-class sporting franchise, his strategic guidance and global perspective will be invaluable in accelerating our growth, strengthening our commercial ecosystem and creating long-term value for our partners and fans.”
Krish Ramineni, Founder and CEO of Fireflies.ai and Founding Investor in Rotterdam Dockers, said: “As someone who has played, watched, and followed cricket closely for years, becoming a founding investor of the Rotterdam Dockers feels incredibly special for us at Fireflies. Cricket has always had a global audience, and now Europe has a real opportunity to build something massive around the game. I’m excited to bring the same mindset we used to scale Fireflies, moving fast, using AI, and challenging old assumptions, to help the Dockers compete on the field.”
The Rotterdam Dockers are one of six founding franchises of the ETPL, a competition aimed at accelerating the growth of cricket across Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands by bringing together world-class players from the three countries and across the globe. The partnership reinforces the franchise’s ambition to build sustained success on and off the field.
The inaugural edition of the ETPL will be held from 26 August to 20 September 2026, with Voorburg in the Netherlands and Dublin in Ireland
