Srinagar, Nov 16: The fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of Kashmir has once again brought cheer on the faces of the tourism players as the tour operators have started getting the queries for the fresh trips to the Valley.
The tour operators told the Morning Kashmir that the queries have increased in the last two days.
President of Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK), Rouf Tramboo said that there were apprehensions that the recent spree of attacks would deter the tourism season in the Valley, but with luckily, the tour operators have started receiving the queries again, generating a hope of good season ahead.
“Especially, after the fresh snowfall in the major snowbound attractive areas like Gulmarg and Sonamarg got highlighted, the queries have been received from the aspiring visitors,” Tramboo said, adding that the flow of the tourists at present is also good.
“Though the queries are not similar to previous year, it is still satisfactory,” TAAK president said, adding that the tourism players are expecting a good season ahead.
Furthermore, Chairman Hoteliers Club Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya also stated that they have started receiving the queries for this month as well as the next month—December as well.
“Kashmir is known for its hospitality and the people from outside too are aspiring to visit here to explore the famous tourist destinations especially the winter destinations. We hope that the queries and bookings will go further up in the upcoming days,” Chaya said.
Pertinently, the tourism players including the hoteliers and tour operators condemned the attacks in Kashmir and termed these incidents as unacceptable to the people. They had also stated that those involved in such acts are not humans.
