Srinagar, Aug. 05: On the sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared that the region has undergone a historic transformation—from being a hotbed of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism to a thriving hub of peace, development, and hope.

LG Sinha credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “zero-tolerance policy on terrorism” for crushing Pakistan’s decades-long proxy war in the Valley. “Where there was once only bloodshed and fear, today there is progress and optimism. ‘Naya Kashmir’ is no longer a dream; it is a reality,” he asserted.

Speaking at an event where appointment letters were distributed to 158 family members of civilians killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists, Sinha as per Morning Kashmir emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has adopted a firm stance against terrorism.

“India has set a clear red line—terrorism and its sponsors will face severe consequences. If a nation adopts terror as state policy, it will be met with a decisive and forceful response,” he stated.

Sinha highlighted the long-standing suffering of Kashmiri families, saying, “The pain of losing loved ones does not fade with time. The scars remain, and the unfulfilled dreams of those lost to violence serve as a haunting reminder of Pakistan’s atrocities.”

He noted that justice for victims’ families had been delayed for decades but affirmed that the healing process had now begun. “The terror ecosystem that once thrived in Jammu and Kashmir is being dismantled,” he declared.

Reflecting on the changes since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, Sinha described a “new Jammu and Kashmir”—one where opportunities are given to deserving citizens rather than militants, where governance prioritizes the welfare of common people over separatist agendas, and where children pursue education instead of violence.

“The new Jammu and Kashmir stands for equality, progress, and justice. It is about ending decades of discrimination and ensuring that no more generations suffer due to cross-border terrorism,” he said.

Calling for collective resistance against terrorism, Sinha urged society to unite for lasting peace. “Terrorism has no place in a civilized world. We must pledge never to allow such suffering to recur,” he added.
