Srinagar, July 4: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is all set to witness the rejoining of several leaders, who quit the party from time to time since 2019 while the process has been started on Thursday with the rejoining of Syed Basharat Bukhari.

Sources privy to the development told The Morning Kashmir that several leaders, who have served the party for many years, are planning to rejoin PDP and have approached the leadership in the recent past.
The sources further added that the party has been approached by many leaders so far, who were part of it before 2019.
However, the party leadership has been getting suggestions from the leaders with regard to rejoining the leaders again. “The leaders have been asked to put forth their suggestions about welcoming the leaders in the party fold again,” they said, adding that the decision in this regard will be made soon and several leaders, who have served as the legislators will be likely rejoining the party soon.
Pertinently, former minister Syed Basharat Bukhari rejoined PDP today, nearly six years after leaving.
“I have always represented the aspirations of the people, Bukhari said, adding that he met with Party President Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday and decided to return to the party.
Bukhari was expelled from the PDP in 2018 for anti-party activities after the PDP-BJP coalition government collapsed in Jammu and Kashmir.
