JAMMU, DEC 23: The DGP’s public grievance redressal program continued to receive an overwhelming response as a large number of individuals gathered at the Police Headquarters in Jammu today to voice their grievances directly to the police chief.
During the five-hour-long program, a total of 237 individuals, including women and elderly persons, presented their grievances to the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir, R.R. Swain. Swain patiently listened to each grievance, complaint, and plea, reiterating the police’s commitment to addressing the people’s concerns related to police services in the union territory promptly. In some instances, on-the-spot directives were issued to various police units to ensure immediate and effective redressal.
R.R. Swain emphasized that the initiative is solely focused on resolving complaints and grievances related to police services. He clarified that it does not pertain to the recruitment of SPOs or the general transfer of police personnel.
The DGP’s grievance redressal program serves as a platform for the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir to submit their complaints and grievances directly to the DGP. This initiative enhances the JKP’s responsiveness and accountability by ensuring that grievances are promptly reviewed and addressed. The program is primarily aimed at rectifying concerns and improving public satisfaction with police services at different levels.
