Khumriyal Lolab Crowned Champions as Indian Army’s Valley-Level Volleyball League Concludes

Lolab, Aug 27: A month-long celebration of sportsmanship, talent and youth participation culminated at Sever, Lolab, with the grand finale of the Indian Army’s valley-level volleyball tournament, which brought together 64 teams from across the Lolab Valley.

The tournament, which commenced on July 17, witnessed intense competition over several weeks, providing local youth with a platform to showcase their sporting skills and foster camaraderie through organised sports.

In the championship clash, Khumriyal Lolab emerged victorious against Badi Bera Lolab, securing the championship trophy along with ₹50,000 in prize money.

Badi Bera Lolab finished runners-up and received a trophy and ₹30,000, while Shan-e-Lolab, Wavoora, secured third place and was awarded a trophy and ₹20,000.

The successful conclusion of the tournament highlighted the growing enthusiasm for volleyball among Lolab’s youth and underscored the role of organised sporting events in nurturing local talent, promoting teamwork and providing young players with opportunities to compete at a broader level.
