Heroin Supplier ‘DC’ Remanded to 15 Days judicial Custody

A syndicate of smugglers operating along IB in Jammu, Samba & Kathua

Jammu, Aug 8: In a significant development in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking launched by JK Police, the notorious heroin supplier Farman Ali code-named “DC” of Rakh Barotian Vijaypur, who was arrested by Police red-handed while selling heroin to youth has been remanded to 15-days judicial custody, and lodged in District Jail Kathua.

The arrest of ‘DC’ marks a significant victory in the fight against cross border narcotics trade operated from Pakistan with the support of narco smugglers in Jammu and Kashmir & Punjab.

Sources said that Farman Ali was part of a smuggling syndicate having links with the drug smugglers of Punjab. He was being used as a courier to distribute drugs to the youth through a network of men.  

Arrest comes after months of intensive investigation by a joint task force comprising local law enforcement agencies and narcotics control units. ‘DC’ was a prominent figure in the illegal drug trade, allegedly responsible for distributing large quantities of heroin in various communities.

“Notorious heroin supplier Farman Ali alias “DC” who belong to Vijaypur used to operate in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, Vijaypur and Ramgarh by frequently changing his identity, hide-outs and modus-operandi & mostly used to supply heroin to the other small suppliers and individual addicts in the open fields so as to escape in the event of police raid”, said a senior police officer.

A case FIR No. 183/2023 u/s 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act was registered against smuggler “DC” at Police Station Samba through Police Post Supwal and investigation was started. Hardcore accused “DC” was also involved in and arrested by Police in the attack on Police case FIR No.38 /2023 U/S 307,382,353,332,336,147,148 IPC P/S Vijaypur.

After police remand in NDPSA case FIR No.183/2023 of PP Supwal Samba, heroin supplier has been remanded to Judicial custody by the Court of Addl. Sessions Judge Samba and he has been lodged in Jail. The arrest of chitta supplier “DC” was made by the police team composed of DySP Garu Ram, ASI Ganesh Dass and HC Mohd Saif under the supervision of Addl. SP Samba Surinder Choudhary. It is pertinent to mention here that Narco-Terrorism and Drones are emerging as major threats to peace in Jammu and Kashmir. With Pakistan making every effort to poison the youth with drugs, JK Police has launched a massive operation to defeat the nefarious designs of the enemy country and terror groups to destroy the lives of youth in Union Territory. Thousands of people, mostly youth, from Kashmir are slipping into the dark alleys of drug addiction as the Valley has been flooded with huge quantities of heroin coming via Line of Control (LoC) from Pakistan in recent years.
