Goa, Kundai: In a remarkable event, Goa witnessed a historic gathering as two of India’s most respected Shankaracharyas—Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of the Jyotish Peeth in the north and Swami Sadanand Saraswati of the Dwarka-Sharda Peeth in the west—arrived together in Goa for the first time. This unprecedented moment took place at Shri Kshetra Tapobhoomi Gurupith as part of the “Go Pratishtha” movement, aimed at promoting reverence for “Go Mata” (Mother Cow) in Indian society.
The head of Sridattapadmanabh Peeth, Padmashri Sadguru Brahmeshanandacharya Swamiji, warmly welcomed the Shankaracharyas with traditional Vedic rituals, conch sounds, and the pealing of bells, creating a powerful atmosphere of spirituality and respect. Thousands of followers, students, and guests from across Goa gathered to witness the rare occasion.
During the event, both Shankaracharyas paid tribute to Sridattapadmanabh Peeth’s impactful contributions under Brahmeshanandacharya Swamiji’s guidance, particularly in the fields of Hindu culture, education, and the global promotion of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the belief that “the world is one family.” Acknowledging Swamiji’s efforts, the Shankaracharyas formally appointed him as a spiritual leader dedicated to the Peeth’s mission and vision.
Adding to the excitement, the Shankaracharyas emphasized the significance of cow reverence in Hindu tradition, urging the Goa and central governments to recognize “Go Mata” as “Rajmata” (Mother of the State) and “Rashtramata” (Mother of the Nation). This powerful appeal reflects the increasing focus on cultural values and environmental respect.
The event reached a peak with the unfurling of a grand “Go Pratishtha Dhwaj” (sacred cow flag) at Tapobhoomi, symbolizing the Peeth’s dedication to preserving Hindu values and protecting cows as sacred beings. This flag, rising above the Peeth, served as a beacon of tradition and unity, marking a new era for Sridattapadmanabh Peeth’s mission.
The ceremony featured participants from Swami Brahmanand Vedic Gurukul and the International Sadguru Gurukulam, along with enthusiastic Goan devotees and cow-protection supporters. The momentous occasion has set a new benchmark for spiritual gatherings in Goa, reinforcing Brahmeshanandacharya Swamiji’s commitment to cultural, religious, and environmental causes on both a local and global scale.
