SHOPIAN, FEB 14 : Horticulture, Planning & Marketing Department Shopian today organised a camp regarding Post harvest management of fruits where the prime focus was P.M. formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme under the banner of Atma Nirbhar Bharat here at Gagran, here.
Area Marketing Officer, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad lone (District Nodal Officer-PMFME scheme) deliberated on the post harvest management of fruit and the possible avenues in the processing sector particularly under PMFME scheme.
He apprised the audience about the Micro-food Processing sector in the district and the need to integrate the existing unorganised Micro-food Processing units of the district.
He further stated that in order to accomplish the objective of self- reliant India (Atma Nirbhar Bharat), the Ministry of Food Processing Industries launched the PMFME scheme to provide financial, technical and marketing support to upgrade the existing Micro-food Processing units.
District Resource Person of the scheme, Syed Arooja Abbas also enlightened the audience to explore the processing sector under the PMFME scheme. Experts from allied departments deliberated upon the schemes pertaining to the Horticulture sector in detail.
The different formalities of the project under the said scheme like financial assistance, technical knowledge, preparation of DPRs were discussed threadbare with the participants.
The officers and officials of the Horticulture Planning and Marketing Department were present at the event.
