New Delhi,June,14: The Department of Polymer and Process Engineering (DPPE) is one of the unique departments of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR), located in the Saharanpur campus of IIT Roorkee. The department performs fundamental and applied research in polymer science, polymer engineering, process engineering, and chemical engineering.
The IIT Roorkee department offers a four-year Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programme (comprising eight semesters) in Polymer Science and Engineering. This programme covers basic but essential concepts of Mathematics, IT, Chemistry, and Chemical Engineering. Chemical engineering concepts such as Thermodynamics, Mass Transfer, Energy Balance, and other such concepts are also taught that act as tools to help in the proper understanding of technicalities of polymer processing.
