Impasse over pre-poll alliance likely to end soon

NC-Congress hold formal discussion to decide seat-sharing
Srinagar, Aug 21: The impasse over the pre-poll bonhomie between the Regional National Conference (NC) and Congress would likely end soon as the two parties have entered into a formal deliberations to discuss the issues in detail.

Sources privy to the development told The Morning Kashmir that there has been some fruitful discussions between the two parties as some points and the conditions have been accepted by the leaders from the either parties.
“There is no conclusion at present as conditions on some of the seats including Inderwal and Doda have not been accepted yet,” they informed.
However, the sources believe that the discussions held so far are expected to yield better and fruitful results with regard to the pre-poll alliance. “Since Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and its leader Rahul Gandhi are meeting the NC leadership, we expect a breakthrough in this regard at the shortest possible time,” they said.
During the release of the poll manifesto, the NC Vice President had stated that there was no breakthrough in this regard, but the talks with the Congress have not been held formally. “We have kept the options open for the pre-poll alliance, let the formal discussion begin and a decision in this regard will be taken accordingly,” Omar had said.
