As a student of M S Engineering College, the recently held International Women’s Day event was a momentous occasion that I will cherish for years. Along with my fellow students, I had the incredible opportunity to witness an extraordinary speech by Mrs. Meenakshi Krishna Byregowda, Vice President of CGI Information Systems and a dedicated social activist. The event, organized in celebration of International Women’s Day, became a beacon of motivation for us aspiring young girls, igniting a fire of ambition and self-confidence within us.
Mrs. Meenakshi Krishna Byregowda, a woman of immense talent and perseverance, captivated us as she spoke about the values of hard work, dedication, and self-belief. Her inspiring journey from a young dreamer to a highly accomplished professional resonated deeply with us. She emphasized the importance of resilience, courage, and the unwavering pursuit of our dreams.
She urged us never to fear failures, stating, “Success is not about how many times you fall; it is about how many times you get up and move forward.” Her words encouraged us to take on challenges with confidence and to break barriers without hesitation.
Supporting her insights with statistics, she highlighted an alarming reality—India ranks among the bottom 15 countries in the world for female labor force participation, with only 32.7% of women in the workforce. Despite excelling in academics, fewer women transition into the workforce, with only 38.5% of women with advanced degrees actively employed. These figures, she stressed, were not just numbers but a reflection of untapped potential and societal expectations that hinder women’s progress.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Principal Dr. N. Ranapratap Reddy, Secretary Mr.Sudarshan Raju, and Trustee of MS Education Mrs.Nalini Sudarshan Raju. Their support and encouragement for women’s empowerment reinforced the significance of such initiatives in shaping a brighter future for us young women.
Mrs. Meenakshi Krishna Byregowda’s speech was a call to action for all of us to rise above obstacles and chase our aspirations fearlessly. She highlighted the importance of discipline and continuous learning, urging us to remain steadfast in our goals. “Nothing is impossible for those who dare to chase their ambitions,” she declared, leaving an indelible mark on my heart and mind.
For me and many others, this event was more than just a motivational talk—it was a turning point. I now truly believe in myself. I will no longer doubt my potential. I will work hard and make my dreams come true.
As the session concluded with thunderous applause, I knew that Mrs. Meenakshi Krishna Byregowda’s words had transformed hesitation into confidence, doubt into determination, and dreams into goals. Her speech was not just an address; it was a movement, inspiring us girls to step forward with confidence and claim our rightful place in the world.
