IUST Organises Mega Anti-Drug Awareness Rally at Awantipora Under 100-Day Nasha Mukht J&K Abhiyan

Awantipora, April 30: As part of the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukht Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora organised a mega anti-drug awareness rally aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free society.

The rally was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor IUST Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Ramshoo, who flagged off the programme in the presence of senior university officials, faculty members, and a large number of students.Among those present on the occasion were Dean Academics Prof. Ayaz Hussain Moon, Director Good Governance G.N Itoo, faculty members, administrative staff, and students from various departments of the university.

Addressing the participants, the Vice Chancellor emphasised the collective responsibility of educational institutions and society in combating the growing menace of drug abuse. He urged students to act as ambassadors of change and actively contribute towards building a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.

The rally witnessed participation from thousands, who marched through designated routes in Awantipora carrying placards and raising slogans highlighting the importance of awareness, prevention, and community participation in eradicating substance abuse.

University officials stated that the initiative reflects IUST’s continued commitment towards social responsibility and youth engagement under the Nasha Mukht J&K campaign.

The programme concluded with a pledge by participants to work collectively for a healthier and drug-free society.
