JKPECC has expressed serious shock and concern over Government’s proposed plan to unilaterally push for privatization of power at distribution periphery, without taking the principal stakeholders on board, viz. PDD employees. JKPECC has questioned the haste and secrecy surrounding the sensitive issue of privatization, even when KPDCL has performed admirably in bringing down losses and raking up revenue and billing and collection efficiency. This privatization misadventure is clear violation of democratic and constructional rights as well as principals of natural justice where a Govt employee is completely unaware of the challenges it may face in future, in case privatization is further considered which compromises the service rights. JKPECC seeks intervention of Hon’ble LG, Hon’ble CM and respected Chief Secretary JK, to take all sections of employees of JKPDD on board and listen to their apprehensions before carrying forward any proposal regarding privatization. JKPECC would also like to take this opportunity to advise anyone carrying any rank in PDD and its carved out corporations to desist from misleading higher authorities and posing as collective voice of thousands of employees of PDD due to their self interests and aggrandizements. It shall be grave injustice if the livelihood of thousands of PDD employees is bartered for capital cronyism, at a time when field workers are sacrificing their lives on poles in the line ofduty. In these circumstances the central executive counsel of jkpecc the amalgam of various trade unions have unionously decided that the pdd employees of both regions of (Jammu and Kashmir) shall observe full day resentment (protest) on 4th of February 2025 within their respective offices purely against the proposal of privatization.Publicity Wing:- Jammu & Kashmir Power Employees Coordination Committee.
