J&K Apni Party Shopian District Body Holds Crucial Meeting to Address Grassroot Issues

Shopian, May 29, 2025: The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party’s Shopian district unit convened a significant meeting at the Circuit House, Shopian, with a focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level and highlighting the persistent challenges faced by the people of Shopian. The meeting was presided over by District President Adv. Gowher and organized by District Secretary and Incharge Adv. Owais Khan.

Despite the presence of elected representatives and an operational government in Jammu & Kashmir, the people of Shopian continue to suffer even for basic amenities. This meeting was an important step towards amplifying the voice of the common people and advocating for real change on the ground.

  1. Irregularities in the Draft Master Plan affecting Shopian town residents.
  2. Acute drinking water shortages and the urgent need for modern water filtration plants in both Shopian constituencies.
  3. Waiver of pending electricity bills for economically weaker sections.
  4. Interest waiver on KCC loans for distressed farmers.
  5. Subsidy demand for anti-hail nets to protect traditional apple orchards.
  6. Allotment of shops at Fruit Mandi, Aglar to genuine local stakeholders.
  7. Employment preference to local youth in industrial units set up in Shopian.
  8. Upgradation of healthcare infrastructure, including rural health facilities.
  9. Inclusion of apples under the crop insurance scheme to safeguard growers against losses.
  10. Initiation of work on the proposed Mughal Road Tunnel to improve connectivity.
  11. Prioritization of poor beneficiaries under the IAY housing scheme.
  12. Development of sports infrastructure to promote youth engagement.
  13. Start of construction work on NH-444 within Shopian district.
  14. Sanctioning of a Ring Road project for decongestion and better mobility.

  17. Speedy execution of the street vendors rehabilitation project.
  18. Opening and maintenance of public parks to enhance community spaces.
