Srinagar, June 10: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has announced a revised date for the re-conduct of the M.Sc Nursing Entrance Examination, bringing the test forward to June 16 following requests from candidates.
The examination, which was originally held on June 7, was cancelled after irregularities were detected in the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) answer sheets distributed at examination centres. The Board subsequently decided to annul the test to ensure fairness and transparency in the admission process.
The Board had initially proposed June 23 as the date for the re-examination. Later, the schedule was revised to June 19 and uploaded on the official website. However, after receiving multiple representations from aspirants highlighting scheduling concerns, the Board reviewed the matter and opted to hold the examination three days earlier.
Candidates welcomed the move, saying it would help reduce uncertainty and allow them to complete the admission process without further delay.
“We were anxious after the cancellation of the examination. The revised schedule gives us clarity and enough time to prepare again,” said a nursing aspirant from Srinagar.
Another candidate from Jammu expressed relief over the development, stating, “The Board’s decision to reconsider students’ concerns is encouraging. We hope the examination is conducted smoothly this time.”
JKBOPEE has also informed candidates that fresh admit cards will be issued shortly. Aspirants have been advised to regularly check the Board’s official website for updates regarding admit card downloads, examination centres and other important instructions.
The Board reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and ensuring a fair opportunity for all candidates appearing in the entrance test.
