Job fair held at GDC D H Pora, Kulgam

KULGAM, NOV 16: In an endeavour to provide a suitable and convenient platform to the educated unemployed youth/Job seekers and facilitate their interaction with the Private Companies and Employers for Training, Skilling and placement, the District Employment & Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Kulgam today organised a One day Job Fair at GDC Damhal Hanjipora, here.

The job fair was inaugurated by Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Noorabad, Bashir ul Hassan in presence of Principal GDC DH Pora and officers of DE&CC Kulgam.

11 Private Companies and Skill Development Organisations operating in Education, Finance, Skill Development, Agriculture and Insurance sectors including Ilena Technologies, Agile, Bombay Stock Exchange Institute, Think & Win Technologies, PMKK, Bajaj Alliance etc. participated in the event.

On the occasion stalls were also installed by Govt. line departments including District Industries Centre, KVIB, Handloom & Handicrafts Department, JKRLM, Horticulture Lead Bank Kulgam and the concerned Resource persons also disseminated the information about their respective schemes and programmes.

The event saw an overwhelming response from the Job seekers and companies.

SDM visited the stalls and interacted with the participating youth and representatives of private companies.

Addressing the youth, the speakers emphasized upon them to come out of the traditional mind set up and participate in such kinds of events to extend their horizons of vision and wisdom.

The participants were advised to upgrade their skills as per the Job market demand/ trends and enhance their chances of employment.

Career Counselling Officer and Employment Officer DE&CC Kulgam also addressed the job-seekers and urged them to get themselves registered on J&K Employment Portal ( which has been integrated with NCS portal so as to have an access and avail multiple cost free services like online counseling, Video Resume making, Skill training, Job matching and job notifications related to vacancies put up by private and public sector employers pan India.

The representatives of the participating private sector establishments also spoke on the occasion and acquainted the participants regarding the job opportunities, skill development and employment oriented courses offered by these companies. 132 fresh registrations were done on spot. Job seekers expressed their deep gratitude to the organisers of the event for providing them a suitable platform to interact with the job providers.
