Urges youth to surrender weapons, warns against stone pelting, Rs 105 crore jail for terrorists
SRINAGAR, DEC 11: In a significant address in the ongoing Parliament session, Home Minister Amit Shah echoed a message of unity and integration, declaring “Kashmir of Indians, India of Kashmiris”.
He appealed to the youth wielding guns in Jammu and Kashmir to surrender their weapons and join the national mainstream for a harmonious future.
Shah emphasized the importance of fostering a collective identity, and transcending regional boundaries.
“Our vision is to create a symbiotic relationship where Kashmir becomes an integral part of India, and every Kashmiri feels a sense of belonging within our diverse nation,” he stated.
As part of efforts to encourage a peaceful transition, Shah announced stringent measures against those involved in stone-pelting incidents.
“Anyone engaged in stone pelting will be ineligible for government jobs,” he declared, underscoring the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order.
Furthermore, Shah disclosed plans for a new jail in Jammu and Kashmir, exclusively for terrorists. The jail estimated at Rs 105 crore, aims to enhance security measures and isolate individuals involved in terrorist activities.

Earlier Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented two crucial bills, the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023, and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2023, in the Rajya Sabha today.
