Kashmiri Pandit Leads Heartwarming “Street Iftaar” in Downtown Srinagar

Masroor Qayoom:

In a poignant demonstration of communal harmony, Kashmiri Pandits orchestrated a remarkable Street Iftaar event in the historic Bohri Kadal neighborhood of Downtown Srinagar.

Despite the bustling streets and inclement weather, the distribution of Iftaar Kits was conducted with the aim of fostering unity and understanding among people from diverse backgrounds.

Spearheading this initiative was Sandeep Mawa, a respected figure within the Kashmiri Pandit community and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Reconciliation Front.

Reflecting on the significance of the kit distribution, Mawa expressed his delight at witnessing individuals from all walks of life come together to share a meal and exchange warm greetings. He underscored the importance of such endeavors in perpetuating harmony and peace throughout the region.

Local resident Sahil echoed these sentiments, describing the Street Iftaar as a poignant gesture that brings communities closer together. He emphasized that irrespective of one’s background, events like these serve as a testament to the power of compassion and brotherhood in fostering unity.

The Street Iftaar event not only showcased the spirit of communal unity but also served as a beacon of hope for a future marked by inclusivity and mutual respect amongst all residents of Kashmir.
