A mammoth protest rally under the leadership of Shri Rakesh Shankar Shetty, Spokesperson, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and by Shri Ketan Shah, Honourable President, Mumbai North East District Congress Committee was organized by Mahavikas Aghadi today to T-Ward Municipal Office to express its sincere protest for the continued indecision and abnormally delayed stand of T-Ward Municipal Office with respect to relocation of thousands of persons belonging to the underprivileged sections of the society and engaged in the traditional trade of collection & selling of old clothes to its old place located near Gavan Pada Fire Station, Mulund (East), Mumbai – 400081 as well as for maintaining the status quo of their present trade location near the Octroi Naka, Mulund (East) till a final verdict is given by the Hon’ble Court.
A stern warning was given to T-Ward Municipal office during this protest rally that those small-time traders would be conducting their usual business in front of the main gate of T-Ward Municipal Office from today onward as a mark of their strongest-ever protest till a firm decision is taken by T-Ward Municipal Office on their demands. Smt. Yogita Kolhe, Honourable Assistant Municipal Commissioner, T-Ward Municipal Office, discussed the raised issue threadbare with Shri Rakesh Shankar Shetty, Spokesperson, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee who led this mammoth protest rally and rendered a firm assurance to the delegation about fulfilment of their raised demands. Finally, the protest march was successful as T-Ward Municipal Office has agreed to explore the possibility of finding an alternate site for those small-time old cloth traders to enable them to conduct their regular business without any hindrances. Shri Utam Gite, General Secretary, Mumbai Congress, Shri Ramesh Vishwakarma, President, Mumbai North East District Congress Seva Dal, Shri Sachin Yadav, President -NSUI, Mumbai North East District, Shri Vithal Satpure, Shri Sanjay Gharat, Shri Rajendra Uthwal, Shri Raju Davare, Shri Shrikrishna Kanekar and Shri Arvind Yadav, all Block Presidents were part of this delegation including Shri Sulabh Jain, a noted local journalist. Other dignitaries that were present during this protest rally were Shri Amit Patil, Smt. Pushpa Sakri, Shri Dharmesh Soni and Shri Aditya Gite.
