Mumbai Customs Seizes ₹23.44 Crore Worth of Drugs and Gold; Seven Arrests Made at CSMIA (Nov 10-12, 2025)

Mumbai 13 November 2025: During the duty of 10 – 12 Nov 2025, following cases made by Customs Officers at CSMI Airport, Mumbai Customs Zone-III:-
Highlights of the cases: (Dated: 10-12.11.2025)

Case 1: On the basis of specific intel, the Customs officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai Customs Zone III, intercepted 01 passenger arriving from Bangkok to Mumbai by flight no. TG 351 dated 10.11.2025. During the examination of the baggage, the Customs officers recovered 10.090 kg of suspected Hydroponic Weed (Marijuana), with an illicit market value of approximately ₹ 10.090 crores. The narcotic substances were concealed inside the checked-in trolley bag carried by the passenger.
01 passenger was arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

Case 2: On the basis of specific intel, the Customs officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai Customs Zone III, intercepted 01 passenger arriving from Bangkok to Mumbai by flight no. TG 351 dated 10.11.2025. During the examination of the baggage, the Customs officers recovered 5.745 kg of suspected Hydroponic Weed (Marijuana), with an illicit market value of approximately ₹ 5.745 crores. The narcotic substances were concealed inside the checked-in trolley bag carried by the passenger.
01 passenger was arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

Case 3: On the basis of information by Airline staff, the Customs officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai Customs Zone III, Seized Hydroponic weed weighing 3.921 kg, with an illicit market value of approximately ₹ 3.921 crores, which was recovered from Lavatory of Flight AI 2338 dated 10.11.2025 arrived from Bangkok.

Case 4: On the basis of spot profiling, the Customs officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai Customs Zone III, intercepted 01 passenger who was about to depart to Dubai from Mumbai via flight no. SG 13 dated 11.11.2025. During the examination of hand baggage, the Customs officers recovered foreign currency i.e. 15000 USD, having value of Rs. 13,16,250/-.

Case 5: On the basis of APIS profiling, the Customs officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai Customs Zone III, intercepted 01 passenger arriving from Muscut to Mumbai by flight no. WY201 dated 12.11.2025. During the personal search of passenger, the Customs officers recovered gold bars weighting 109.8 grams valued RS. 12,62,782/-.

Case 6: On the basis of specific intelligence, on 12.11.2025, the Customs Officers at Chhatarpati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport ,Mumbai Customs Zone-III, intercepted two passengers, who had arrived from Dubai to Mumbai by IndiGo Flight No. 6E1452 dt. 12.11.2025. On personal search of passengers the Customs Officers recovered 24 KT Gold Dust in Wax (04 pouches) weighing 1550 grams, valued at Rs. 1,78,26,165/-. The gold was concealed inside socks worn by both the passengers. The two passengers were arrested and Further on follow up action, the two persons, who were waiting outside the airport to receive the smuggled gold from the both passengers were also arrested.

Case 7: On the basis of specific intel, the Customs officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai Customs Zone III, intercepted 01 passenger arriving from Bangkok to Mumbai by flight no. TG 351 dated 12.11.2025. During the examination of the baggage, the Customs officers recovered 889 gms of suspected Hydroponic Weed (Marijuana), with an illicit market value of approximately ₹ 0.889 crores. The narcotic substances were concealed inside the false bottom cavity made in the bottom of checked-in trolley bag carried by the passenger.
01 passenger was arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
