Baramulla, May 24: Security forces in North Kashmir recovered cache of ammunition during a joint operation launched in the Nilsar Kandi area of Baramulla district.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Baramulla Police, 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and CRPF following specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of militant-related material in the area.
During the search operation, security forces recovered, 14 rounds of OG-7V Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) ammunition
09 rounds of PG-7P Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) ammunition.
Source said the recovery has averted a possible threat and marks a major achievement in the ongoing anti-militancy operations across North Kashmir.
The recovered ammunition has been seized for further investigation, while a case has been registered under relevant sections of law. Security agencies have intensified searches in the surrounding areas to trace any possible militant links.
Senior officials praised the coordinated efforts of the joint forces, stating that such operations reflect the strong synergy between Police, Army, and paramilitary forces in maintaining peace and security in the region.
