Massive Joining in Congress at Bakhipora, Rafiabad

A massive joining programme was held today at Bakhipora, Rafiabad, Baramulla, where a Panchayat-level workers’ meeting was organised under the leadership of DCC President Mir Iqbal Ahmad.
The meeting was attended by senior Congress leader Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Dr. Irfan Nazir, Umer Dar, and Nishat Ahmad. The programme was facilitated by Ishfaq Ashraf, who recently joined the Indian National Congress.

During the programme, dozens of families from Bakhipora and adjoining areas, associated with different political parties, formally joined the Congress, expressing their faith in the party’s ideology, leadership and commitment towards the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, DCC President Mir Iqbal Ahmad welcomed the new entrants and said:
“The growing support for Congress at the grassroots level is a clear indication that people are once again looking towards the Congress for a politics of dignity, development, justice and inclusiveness. We warmly welcome every new member who has chosen to strengthen the Congress family. Our doors are open to all those who believe in democracy, secularism and the constitutional rights of the people.”
He further said that the Congress would continue to strengthen its organisation at the Panchayat and grassroots levels and remain firmly connected with the aspirations and concerns of the people.
The newly joined members were assured that they would be given full respect and space within the organisation, and their participation would further strengthen the Congress movement in Rafiabad.
