DC Pulwama Dr Basharat Qayoom Leads Patriotic Rally from GDC Tral to Main Bus Stand; Thousands Join Celebrations

Tral, August 9: As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, being observed in integration with the third phase of the commemoration of 150 years of the National Song “Vande Mataram,” the District Administration Pulwama today organised an inaugural programme in Sub-Division Tral.
The programme commenced with the rendition of “Vande Mataram” and the National Anthem, setting the tone for the day’s celebrations. The highlight of the event was a Mega Tiranga Rally, which commenced from Government Degree College Tral and culminated at the Main Bus Stand, Tral.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Basharat Qayoom in the presence of MLA Tral Rafiq Ahmad Naik, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Mohammad Ashraf, ADC Tral Sajid Naqash and SSP Awantipora Sajad Hussain, besides other senior officers, officials, students and a large number of local residents.
Carrying the Tricolour with pride, enthusiastic participants marched through the town, raising patriotic slogans and expressing their commitment to the values of unity, integrity and national pride. The participation of students and members of the local community added vibrancy to the rally and reflected strong public enthusiasm for the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.
During the programme, a floral tribute was also paid to police martyrs, honouring their supreme sacrifices and remembering their courage and dedication in the line of duty.
The Mega Tiranga Rally provided a strong platform for collective participation and patriotic expression, while highlighting the significance of the ongoing 150-year commemoration of “Vande Mataram.”
The event concluded with a renewed message of unity, patriotism and respect for the National Flag, encouraging people to actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and celebrate the spirit of the nation.
