Baramulla, Aug 13: In a strong display of patriotism and community participation, hundreds of school students, local residents and Jamat leaders joined a Tiranga rally organised by the Indian Army in Old Town Baramulla ahead of Independence Day.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students and locals proudly carrying the Tricolour and raising patriotic slogans, creating a vibrant atmosphere across the Old Town.
The event was seen as a significant reflection of the changing situation in the area, which had witnessed incidents of stone-pelting and militancy in the past. Local youth said the atmosphere has changed considerably since 2019, with people increasingly coming forward to participate in community and national events.
“The youth of Old Town are extending strong support to the Indian Army and the district administration,” locals said, adding that such initiatives help strengthen trust, unity and a sense of belonging among the younger generation.
The rally aimed to promote patriotism, national unity and harmony while strengthening engagement between the Army, administration and local communities ahead of August 15 celebrations.
