Srinagar, August 24: In a grand and significant ceremony, IPS officer Sujit Kumar Singh Chauhan is elevated to the prestigious rank of Inspector General of Police (IGP). The event, attended by Director General of Police (DGP) J&K R.R. Swain, Special DG J&K Nalin Prabhat, and IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, marks Kumar’s new role as Incharge IGP Security J&K, highlighting a significant milestone in his distinguished career.

His academic pursuits took him to Hindu College, Delhi, and Patna University, where he not only excelled but also laid the foundation for a career dedicated to public service. These institutions, known for their rigorous standards, nurtured his intellect and sense of duty.
Kumar’s path has not been without challenges. As a cancer survivor, he faced one of life’s toughest battles with courage and strength. This personal experience has deepened his empathy and commitment to serving others, qualities that have defined his career in the police force.
At the pipping ceremony, DGP RR Swain captured the significance of Kumar’s promotion, saying, “We have a new security wing head who has also been given a well-deserved functional promotion to the rank of IGP.
