Age Doesn’t Matter, Passion Does: Nivedita Basu Embarks on a New Journey
Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Age often becomes a point where people choose to slow down, but for Nivedita Basu, it has become a time to begin again. After the age of 45, she has shown the courage to reinvent herself and embrace new challenges.
With more than two decades of experience in the Indian television industry, Basu has established herself as a director, creative leader and content strategist. After serving as Vice President of Content and Business Alliances at Balaji Telefilms, she stepped out of the secure corporate environment in 2015 and launched her own production company, House of Originals.
Since then, she has worked with diverse platforms and brands including ULLU, Atrangii, Hari Om and Dangal, continuously adapting herself to the rapidly evolving entertainment landscape. From becoming the owner of the Box Cricket League team Kolkata Babu Moshayes to exploring ventures in hospitality and publishing, her journey has been marked by experimentation, courage and a willingness to take risks.
The launch of the digital magazine ‘Self-Made Woman’ is another extension of her vision to celebrate ambition, independence and reinvention.
However, the most fascinating chapter of her journey is her passion for squash. Stepping onto the Masters circuit, Basu is currently India’s No. 3 seeded player in her category and is now preparing to take the next step towards becoming a professional player.
Nivedita Basu’s journey sends out a powerful message: experience is never an ending—it can become the strongest foundation for the next beginning. Her story is a reminder that age should never define ambition, and that with passion and determination, it is always possible to take a new flight.
