Srinagar: An oil tanker overturned on Wednesday morning in the Watlar area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district along the busy Srinagar Leh Highway, triggering concern among commuters and local residents.
Soon after the incident, personnel from the Indian Army’s 24 Rashtriya Rifles rushed to the spot and launched immediate rescue and safety operations. The Army teams acted swiftly to secure the area, assist civilians and regulate traffic movement on the highway.
According to preliminary reports, the tanker reportedly lost control before overturning along the roadside. Despite the severity of the accident, no loss of life or major injuries had been reported till the filing of this report.
The prompt response by the Army helped prevent panic and ensured the situation remained under control. Personnel remained deployed at the site to monitor the situation and take precautionary measures against any possible fuel leakage or traffic disruption.
